Resources & Advocacy

Driving Policy, Research, and Public Awareness for Sustainable Change

At HER-CREED Foundation, advocacy is at the heart of our mission. We believe that lasting transformation begins when communities, policymakers, and institutions work together to challenge injustice, close inequality gaps, and build systems that protect and empower all.

Our Resources & Advocacy hub serves as a knowledge center — showcasing our research, policy briefs, publications, and campaign materials designed to influence policy, inform decision-making, and inspire public action. Through evidence-based advocacy, HER-CREED provides the data, voices, and strategies needed to advance the rights and wellbeing of women, girls, and vulnerable groups in Nigeria and beyond.

1. Policy Briefs and Calls for Reform

HER-CREED plays a proactive role in shaping laws and policies that affect women, girls, and youth. Our policy briefs are concise, evidence-based documents that highlight pressing social and gender issues while recommending actionable reforms to government bodies, civil society organizations, and development partners.

  • Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Legislation: Advocating for the full domestication and enforcement of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) Act, and strengthening institutional responses to GBV, including survivor protection and justice delivery.
  • Maternal and Child Health Policy: Calling for increased funding and accessibility to maternal health services, midwife training, and emergency obstetric care in rural communities.
  • Economic Empowerment and Inclusion: Proposing frameworks that promote women’s participation in entrepreneurship, digital skills development, and access to finance.
  • Education Reform: Campaigning for policies that safeguard girl-child education, prevent early marriage, and promote inclusive learning environments for children with disabilities.

Each policy brief is developed through participatory consultation — incorporating field data, community feedback, and stakeholder perspectives — to ensure that the recommended solutions are practical, equitable, and sustainable.

2. Research and Reports on Women and Girls

HER-CREED recognizes that effective advocacy must be built on solid evidence. Our Research and Documentation Unit conducts field studies, baseline assessments, impact evaluations, and gender analyses to generate reliable data on the conditions and needs of women, girls, and marginalized groups.

Through community-level data collection, participatory research, and collaboration with academic institutions, we produce periodic reports that shed light on emerging trends and challenges across our thematic areas. These reports help guide government policies, donor investments, and community interventions.

  • Educational access and school retention for girls and boys in rural areas.
  • Socioeconomic empowerment and employment trends among young women and men.
  • Maternal and reproductive health outcomes, including barriers to healthcare access.
  • Prevalence and patterns of gender-based violence and harmful practices.
  • Community attitudes toward equality, leadership, and civic participation.

Our findings are not kept on shelves — they inform our programming and are shared openly with partners, policymakers, and the public to inspire collaborative solutions.

3. Media and Campaign Assets

HER-CREED uses the power of communication to change mindsets and mobilize action. Our Media and Campaign Unit designs impactful advocacy campaigns, public service messages, and creative materials that amplify the voices of women and youth while challenging harmful cultural practices.

  • Ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM): Community sensitization campaigns highlighting the physical and psychological dangers of FGM and promoting alternative rites of passage.
  • Combating Human Trafficking: Educational programs and survivor-centered media stories that expose trafficking networks and encourage vigilance.
  • Gender-Based Violence Awareness: Nationwide campaigns promoting survivor support, legal redress, and male engagement for positive masculinity.
  • Menstrual Health and Hygiene Promotion: Educational content that normalizes menstrual discussions, distributes hygiene products, and combats stigma.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Campaigns encouraging youth and women’s participation in WASH and climate-resilience activities.

Our media efforts blend traditional and digital communication — leveraging radio, television, print, and social platforms to ensure messages reach urban and rural audiences alike. We also collaborate with journalists, influencers, and creative professionals to amplify our advocacy for systemic gender transformation.
